April 21st, 2008The Prince’s Island
May 22nd, 2007When I was younger I used to watch Anne of Green Gables and her adventures in Avonlea on TV. I read all the books and was always fascinated by Prince Edward Island. I kept telling people I would visit it one day, and in 2005 I finally took a road trip to Canada. I spent 8 days in a car with a friend, and though all of it was fantastic, there was only one set destination in mind. I made it to Prince Edward, to Cavendish and to the Green Gables. I can’t wait to go back.

Escape Attempt
March 26th, 2007I’m out in the Japanese Tea Garden in the Golden Gate park with a couple of friends, a camera, and entirely too much time on my hands. It’s raining hard, we’re pretty much the only ones there. This, the scene with the dead fish floating in the water, is pretty much the first thing that hits my eyes as I paid my 4 bucks and got through the gate. It was… moving.
That day produced lots of interesting photos, portraits mostly, but this one probably has the most meaning to me, personally. I’ve felt kinda like that fish before, attempting to escape, to break free, and coming just short…

Attempted Suicide
March 15th, 2007This picture was taken on a warm Florida day actually in my pool. I rescued these little men and helped them to safety. I think the picture reflects the huge influx of the Brazilian community in S. Florida, hence the Havaianas in the picture. I think it’s very natural and that’s why I appreciate it. Hope you like it.

I was driving with my father down a country road in Maryland when we passed this barn. I told him to stop the car, and I proceeded to get out, cross the street, and take just this one shot. It came out great, I think. I made a few enlargements and even sold one in a gallery. Both of my parents have a framed copy of this picture in their homes. My copy is here - with you.
